    Description

Vintage 1965 Lithuanian Traditional Costume with Karuna, Juosta, and Apron.  The juosta(sash) has inscription woven into it stating "The Soviet Lithuania 1940-1965".  The main colors of the costume are green, white and yellow.  The costume has been altered from the original fitting size.  The waistband can probably fit up to a 35 inch waist and the vest from shoulder to waist measures 14 inches and this too can probably fits roughly a 33 to 35 inch waist. The length of the skirt is roughly about 32.5 inches from waist to ankle, so this is probably for a person who is on the diminutive side.  The karuna features the colors of green, white, red and a hint of purple at the crown part.   The apron has a beige background wih colorful flowers in six panels and separated by traditional trim.   It is a lovely part of Lithuanian history and would be a nice addition to a historical collection or even still to wear at Lithuanian folk festivals.
