Large Antique 1800s Norwegian Painted Tine Chest Vicksdal Bride Box

This mid 1800s antique Viksdal Norwegian rosemaled wood bride's box is huge! It features beautiful folk art hand painted decoration on orange/red paint, on all 4 sides and the lid. These have gotten so hard to find, and this one is a beauty! The box came from an estate sale in Pennsylvania. It measures 15" long x 5" high to the top of the uprights. It has wonderful old detailing on the bent wood portion and the lid, with wooden peg and woven seam construction. The lid handle is hand forged iron and original. The box is in good condition and all original. Uprights supported with old screws that look to have been put in place a very long time back. Nice patina with some age appropriate paint loss on the lid. It displays very well. Enjoy!
