    Description

    Hungarian Hungary Szur Felt Coat Wine Bottle Jacket Cover Folk Art Budapest.
    Worn by Magyar herdsmen in Hungary as far back as the Middle Ages, the Szur is a dramatic, mid-calf coat that was traditionally worn over the shoulders as a cape and lavishly decorated with cutwork felt appliqué.
    This was created for a wine bottle. The design is traditional for a Santa. I photographed it covering a large magnum size wine bottle. (Bottle not included)
    The color is forest green and cream.
    Coat measures approx 10” long. The hat is attached to the coat with a plastic clothes tag.
    It is at least 20 years old and has been displayed on a bottle all that time
